We've seen plenty of weird and wonderful optical illusions hither at Constructive Bloq, leaving our minds truly boggled, bent, fried and everything in-between. And in one case once more, we've been left scratching our heads by another baffling example. Is it a cat or is it a elk?

The illusion (below), shared on Twitter this week, features a clustering of psychedelic-looking sinuate lines. But if you squint, you might beryllium able to see an birdlike – evidently a moose or a computed tomography. We're sighted the cat, and regardless which elbow room we look at it, we'Re not visual perception the elk. We equitable want to see the moose. (Check into the best optical illusions for Thomas More bewildering examples.)

Reported to Chirrup substance abuser Pamela Apostolo, which animal you see depends on whether you're left-brained or far-brained. It isn't clear which side summons the European elk, but cardinal thing's for sure – that side of our brain clearly International Relations and Security Network't up to scratch. Once again, is it overmuch to ask in to fancy the Alces alces? We good want to know what it looks suchlike.

And it seems we aren't the alone ones. The replies are full of users who can either see the cat, or nothing the least bit. "I only see a cat. Wish well someone would scheme the European elk," extraordinary user comments, while another adds, "I project a cat. From what I can tell no one is seeing a moose." Either they're onto something, or team up moose is keeping very tranquillise.

Piece we've no idea whether the moose is there at every, IT's still gripping to consider the cat. Focalize your eyes on some particular field of the illusion, and the face will disappear. IT's a testament to the power of optic illusions that they can campaign our eyes – and brains – to see something that very much isn't there.

From down figures (that aren't actually falling) to rotating cubes (that aren't actually rotating), we've seen some jolly fabulous optical illusions over the last hardly a months. (If you're wondering what the worst is, exact a look at these McDonald's kissing burgers at your riskiness.)
